Welcome to the Progress section. Here is where you'll find the latest Progress on whatever game I'm currently working on. Just because something is up in the Progress section doesn't mean it will be changed in the demo version of the game, it's just here to give you an idea of how far along I am in the game. The current progress is for Gundam Deathscythe and Dragon Ball Death of a God.

Possible release dates for next demos/final versions:

Dragon Ball DoaG Ep 6: Mid 2004

Gundam Deathscythe: ???

Yamcha's Story: ???

DB DoaG -

The first town is more or less finished.  The buildings have been designed and the teleports are up and running.  Now I just need some villagers running around and it'll be complete.  I was thinking of using this place as a vital part of the story but now I"ve decided to use it as more of a place Gohan and co will just be passing through.  That isn't to say it'll be like an afterthought, I'd really like this town, as well as every other one, to actually look like it has a purpose other then just a place to have your party heal up and get some new items.

DB DoaG -

After finishing a handful of enemy battle animations I've moved on to designing the first little place you'll be visiting in the overworld.  It's a very obscure place from early on in Dragon Ball and I'm sure few of you have heard of it.  It's the home village of Namu (Nam in the dub) which had been going through drought.  Because of this draught Namu entered the Tenkai Ichi Budokai but was defeated by Jackie Chun (Master Roshi).  Now it's roughly 25 years later and there'll be a little more trouble for that poor village.  Oh, and let's pretend that little filler episode in the anime where Goku and Namu work together to help the village never happened, okay?

DB DoaG -

I just finished making a flying Gohan character set so it looks like there'll be at least some flying, I just need to figure out how exactly I want flying to be implemented.

Now, get a load of this, I just made the greatest flying system ever!  It's so simple to use that even a five year old could figure it out!  How does it work?  Well, you press enter and Gohan will go into fly mode which means he'll look like he's flying and be able to fly over water and mountains.  To drop down to the ground just press enter again and that's all there is to it!  A few limitations, it's possible to land on water or mountains but you still won't be able to walk, you'll just stand there or activate a special area.  You also can't enter any towns or houses while flying and you can only fly in the world map.  It may sound rough but you have to remember it's only meant as a means of transportation.

Currently I'm working on enemy battle animations and location placement in the overworld. Just a few more things to touch up before I can take the story to the next level.

Editing chipsets is a pain in the ass.  I managed to modify one so that the water doesn't look like crap and now I have to figure out how to fix it so the desert won't look so lame. Cross your fingers for cause if I pull it off I'll be able to make areally nice looking overworld.

Overworld is pretty much done.  Just gotta work on where to put the towns and decide how they'll travelling.  I'd like to include flying but I really don't want anyone getting lost.  Any ideas?

DB DoaG -

I really wish I had more to report this time but the most I can is I've tried tosteer away from the heavy amounts of cutscenes towards a purer form of gaming where the player is allowed to explore the world on their own.  To do this I've begun work on an overworld that'll alow some freedom while still keeping the story moving forward.  I should really just make this a new game instead of changing the focus of the existing one but I really want this to be the last episode and for it to be special.  Hopefully it'll meet everyone's expectations.

DB DoaG -

With this episode except a whole bunch of things to be revealed and everything will start to fit together nicely.  I don't think anyone will be able to figure out who the shadowy figure is but it'll totally make sense when it's revealed.  I just have to add a few more elements to the story and I can start on the big finale.

Decided to change the focus of the game a little with a good old fashioned Dragon Ball hunt. This game may be getting a little too big but I don't think anyone has a problem with long games, do they?

I've got a whole bunch of new face sets for the game which will be really helpful as they are mostly for characters I have yet to introduce.  Hopefully they'll give everything a nicer look as the face sets I've been using are kind of lame with the blue and all that.

DB DoaG -

I've decided to upgrade the sixth episode of DoaG by changing the program I'm using to make it.  The sixth episode will now be made with RM2k3 which means it's going to see some great improvements like a better battle system (with custom graphics sorta made by me) and a couple of other cool features.

Making custom Battle Graphics is tough work.  I'm only really altering character sets but it's still tough to get them in good poses.  So far I've got Goten, Gohan and Trunks ones but I still need to make some for Puar.  The new battle system looks great and I can't wait to show you all how much it's improved!

I've begun adding even more familiar characters to the game.  I'm working on adding some more bosses and getting an overworld in place.  I think I might have just about every major Dragon Ball Z character in this series.  The only ones still missing are the villans from later on in the series but I'll get around to adding those guys in.

DB DoaG -

I've added a few more areas to the game which are fairly large.  I'm thinking of ways to try and make the maps more then just long walks or mazes by adding puzzle elements but there won't be anything too taxing.

I've had to rethink the direction of the story after realising the huge plot hole I had accidently created.  I managed to patch it up by adding a little more to the story and yet another familiar DBZ character to the mix.  I just need to find a way to incorporate them into the plot a little more shoothly and it'll be perfect.

DB DoaG -

Wow, three months since the last one.  The new area is coming along nicely with several maps now completed.  There's a short boss encounter which tips off everything that's going to happen in that part of the game but it'll be going backwords from what happened on the show.  I haven't done nearly enough compared to the time I've had but school and other crap has been getting in the way.  With a summer of nothing but sleep it looks like I'll finally have more time to work on the game.

DB DoaG -

I've finished another big part of the game and that's the introduction of the mytery character. You'll definitly not see it coming.  It's all going to happen during a somewhat funny scene that's fairly short.  With that out of the way I can move the story along a little easier.

I've just about started working on the next area in the game and so far it's starting to look pretty good.  There will be several more characters introduced in this area, most of whom should be very familiar to everyone.  I'll have more info soon.

DB DoaG -

Finally got things moving in the game and found a great way of getting all four members of the party together.  I still won't be giving away the secret identity of the fourth party member but I can say that his battle animations are some of the best I've ever made.  Maybe everyone will be pissed off at who this character is at first but not when you get to see all those cool battle animations!

I've decided to add a cool little sneaking section to the game where one of the characters will have to avoid being found by guards and possibly cameras.  It's pretty standard stuff but it'll be a nice break from the traditional RPG stuff.  Some unexpected snags have set back development a little bit but otherwise everything is moving ahead as planned.

I've created a whole bunch of new areas for a certain character to sneak around, and no it isn't the mystery character who does the sneaking in case I'm sounding a little too secretive.  I also have a hillarious graphic for some guards which will give anyone who's played Chrono Trigger a good laugh.  I'm using the graphic because the character was designed by Akira Toriyama and it fits the game's style nicely.

DB DoaG -

I've had little time to work on my games because of this but I did manage to create a few more graphics and this time I modded a character graphic I had of an older Gohan so that he would be kneeling.

I've just about started a nice long run for the game which will lead up to a boss battle with Cell which is looking pretty good.  This won't be a simple fight Cell and beat him battle, I'll be sure to add a little twist that'll make things interesting.

DB DoaG -

I went and upgraded the graphics for a couple of characters as well as working on a few frames of certain characters to give them a few more expressions.  I'm working on including several more characters whom I'm sure everyone has heard of.  I think I'm about 1/4 of the way through the game now and there's plenty more for me to do.  I want to create a world that lets you do what you want rather then one that forces you down a set path but I'm not sure whether or not the story will permit that.  I'll work on getting it in there.

DB DoaG -

The initial part of the game is complete along with the first part.  It's fairly simple so anyone playing won't be overwhelmed but I plan on making the environments as well as the battles more and more complex.  I'm roughly half way through the next bit and I plan on having many familiar faces appear.  Finding graphics and sounds is getting to be tough as more obscure characters are being brought in but so far I haven't run into any problems that have slowed down development signifigantly.

DB DoaG -

Well, the sixth and hopefully final game is underway and is moving along nicely.  So far only Gohan is being used but due to the overwhelming demand shown in the poll Goten and Trunks will also be playable.  There's also a fourth playable character but I'll be tight lipped about that one for a whle.  I'll only say he'll/she'll blow your mind and will be completely unexpected!

This episode will have a little bit of everything for everyone. This will be the true sequel to DBSS with hopefully just as much depth and challenge of the original.

DB DoaG -

Most of the game takes palce on namek and I'm almost finished with that portion so that kind of means the game is almost finished.  I got a great idea for how to make the next game's battle look even cooler but I'll need to very careful about which characters I use.

All that really needs to be done now is possibly one more area and the final boss.
